Congrats to IROCZ!

I saw Dean's post and checked the results only to realise that they haven't been updated for most of the season...

I guess there are no active members who have access to uploading the results??  I've downloaded the reports from drop.io and updated the site.
Obviously, if there is another season I'll be happy to show someone how to do it.  Just let me know.

Lapo

P.S.  You'll have to check the results to see who came 2nd and third Smiley

Big grats on the season win IROCZ  Shocked

Well? i think you won it's hard to tell from the results ? Undecided

I dont know who else to grats for 2nd 3rd ,cause it's not shown ,but grats anyway for the others .

Been some issues this season ,mostly i was too slow ? Cheesy

IF another season starts ,i hope we can get some stuff sorted.

I'm probably gonna take a break from racing for part of the summer  Cool i've got a few things i'd like to do while the weather is nice ,but if the rest want to start up right away , i'll make the races i can .

Spec season is ok by me for next time but someone needs to decide on what car ?

Cyas soon !

Thanks Dean.  I'll pass it on.  Of course, here in New Zealand everything is even more expensive...  A G25 is worth over $400 second hand...  And a G27 is more like $600 new.  (NZ$ = 72 cents US so you can see we pay a premium for this stuff.)

The annoying thing is that I have a spare Logitech LWFF (the original "good" wheel from logitech), but I read that its not compatible with Vista or Windows7 as it uses a different Force Feedback system and logitech never updated the drivers for it....
I guess I'll have to keep a WinXP partition just for that...

Thanks again for the advice.

The answer really depends on budget. Logitech Driving Force Pro is apparently pretty good for under $100,
G25's are under $200 but not made anymore and getting scarce, G27's are G25's with some stuff
improved but still brand new and closer to $300. If they want to spend more than that, there's Ball Racing
Developments, and FrexGP (insane Japanese stuff, with prices to match). The forums at Sim Racing
Mirror Zone would be a good place to look for info.

As far as Win7 goes, I've installed it (64-bit) recently and am extremely happy with it. I've had everything since
DOS 3.0 and this is the best operating system I've used. Coming from Vista64 (which I actually liked),
everything* runs, and almost everything runs _significantly_ better.

*there are a very few things that just will not run in a 64bit environment, so I run a WinXP 32bit machine
virtually. Check out http://www.virtualbox.org/

Hi all,  I have a friend who is thinking of getting a racing wheel.  I've been out of the loop for too long now.  Can someone give me the run down on what is available and what one should stay away from?
Also, are there any compatibility issues with Windows7 and old hardware?

Thanks!

BTW, great to see you guys are still going.

Cheers,
Lapo

Grats on pole Bill, great fight with you and Z. Hounding me the whole way,
then I blew up crossing the finish line  Cheesy

Season ender at Zandvoort next week. BBQ and beer after, so bring a designated driver (or a tent).

Any requests or ideas for season 36?

OK by me to go back to regular time. NP with the hit DL, I got into the grass a little and then caught that hedge and was just getting going and here you came over the little drop in that turn, nothing you could do. We still had time to get caught back up I think. I was surprized we drafted away from Bill like we did, but was different story catching up. Then with a few to go, you must had a problem and I new I wasn't catching Bill by myself so I set sights on Dean O and got by on last lap. Grats to ya Bill and was still good racing. see ya at the glen
